This large village garden was a blank canvas, with a long, undulating lawn surrounded by a dominant mixed hedge, and lacking both structure and form. The introduction of a sinuous gravel path and the creation of organic flowing borders have enabled the space to be divided by both planting and hard landscaping.

Structure and form now defines different areas, each with a purpose -  a vegetable garden with greenhouse, sunken seating area to catch the evening sun and mini orchard with wild flowers.  The layered planting has incorporated many of the clients favourite shrubs and perennials that moved with them, providing some maturity to the garden. Young trees have been planted to screen neighbouring properties as well as draw the eye away from the boundary hedge and tall grasses provide a semi-translucent screens.
